Note: Before you can import a bank statement into Billdozer, you first need to export it from your bank account to a csv format and save it on your computer’s hard drive.
This option allows you to import bank statements into Billdozer. Existing bank statements are imported using csv file format.
- Click Import on the Bank Statements screen. The Bank Statement Import screen is displayed.
- Click Import.
- From the Bank account you are importing for: drop-down list, select the bank account from which you are importing the bank statement. The available options are the bank accounts (typically only one) that were added either during (or after) Billdozer registration under General Settings > Bank Accounts.
- Click + Choose to open the Windows dialogue box.
- Navigate to the directory, select the bank statement csv file to import and click Open.
- If you are importing a bank statement from your bank for the first time, click Import – new config and configure the following OR continue with step 8:
- Enter a name in the Upload Configuration Name text box.
- Choose the dd/MM/yyyy date format from the Input Date Format drop-down list.
- Check (tick) the Ignore first row check box.
- Click Assign column on each of the available four columns, and assign the column name from the drop-down list. These must match the columns on the imported bank statement.
- Click Save Configuration when complete.
- Click Import to import the bank statement in the selected column format.
- If you want to import a bank statement using an existing configuration, select the template from the Existing upload configurations: drop-down and click Import – existing config. See also Upload Templates.
- The status and progress of the imported bank statement is displayed on the Bank Statement Import screen
- Successfully imported bank statements are analysed and then displayed on the Bank Statements screen, which is accessed from Accounting > Bank Statements. See About Bank Statements to see the results of the analysed bank statement, showing matched account numbers and amounts.
